Portland Outdoor Centre is a group accommodation and adventure basecamp on the stunning Isle of Portland, Dorset, at the heart of the Jurassic Coast.
We provide comfortable, flexible accommodation for groups of up to 140 people, including schools, youth groups, outdoor clubs, families, friends and organised adventure groups. Our two renovated Victorian-style hotels, Portland Roads Hotel and the Breakwater Hotel, each sleep up to 70 guests.
Our ensuite rooms sleep 2–6 people, with bunk beds making them ideal for groups. Rooms can be booked individually or as part of a larger group booking. Guests have access to communal lounge areas, hot drink and microwave facilities, Wi-Fi throughout the buildings and a ready-to-use commercial kitchen for groups wishing to self-cater, subject to arrangement.
We also offer fully catered residential accommodation, with hot breakfast, packed lunch and evening meals provided. Groups can book accommodation alone or combine their stay with our programme of outdoor activities and experiences.
The centre is ideally located for exploring Portland, with easy access to the South West Coast Path, beaches, limestone cliffs, quarries, coves and Portland Harbour. We also have great transport links across the Jurassic Coast with locations such as Lyme Regis, Weymouth, Durdle Door and Swanage a bus ride away. Whether you are climbing, walking, diving, sailing, birdwatching or simply exploring the coast, Portland makes an excellent base.
