Lowick School Bunkhouse is set in the beautiful rural setting of Lowick which is only 9 miles from Coniston and 6 miles from Ulverston. The bunkhouse has beds for up to 22 in 1 dorm of 10 beds, 1 dorm of 8 beds and 1 dorm of 4 beds. It is just on the edge of the Lake District National Park with fabulous views of the Coniston Mountains. It is self-catering with a kitchen-dining room and a separate meeting room/lounge complete with screen, table football and wood-burning stove. Outside there is a campfire area with stunning fell views and walks you can do from the doorstep. There are also two lovely pubs, each serving good food, within 1m walking distance.
The location is fantastic for walking, biking and watersports. Coniston Water, where we provide our lake based activities is only a 10 minute drive away. Grizedale Forest and the Coniston Mountains are really near and there are some great walks either from the door or within a short drive.
Lowick School Bunkhouse is an extension of River Deep Mountain High Outdoor Activities and all groups staying at the bunkhouse can book an activity as part of their stay, but not everyone has to take part. A wide range of activities are available…
Off site: gorge walking>, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing, abseiling, scrambling, mountain biking, raft building. Venues are between 10 and 30mins drive from the bunkhouse.
On site: archery, Native American head-dress making + archery, mountain biking, orienteering.
